Art-Based Courses:

These courses utilize various art mediums and are designed to work with different skill levels. Techniques range from printmaking and painting to clay, bookmaking, crafts and biography. Art instruction at Oasis is always approached using professional techniques and mediums and by professional art instructors. Our desire is inspire students to create quality work and exhibit the work in a professional setting. Art courses are designed to inspire students to redefine themselves through creativity. Instructors search out and foster individual skills and work with students on building a sense of pride, excitement and determination based on their own work.

Students are further empowered by being offered the possibility of exhibiting their work both in the Oasis gallery as well as in outside venues. The effect of seeing one’s own creation professionally framed and hung (and often sold!), is powerful. Techniques and materials are often tailored to foster particular skills such as dexterity, hand-eye coordination, memory, attention span, and movement. Students are encouraged to express themselves through imagery, color and personal biography. In addition to individual work some courses work on large scale collaborative works with dynamic, beautiful results!
